I just attended the Texas Land Trust class online and had two really easy questions. First, can someone who resides outside the state of Texas create a Texas land trust? My assumption is that the land trust goes with the property, and it doesn't matter what state you reside in as long as the property is located in Texas. Is that true?

My second question is related to the first question. Can you put any property you want into a Texas Land Trust, or can you only put Texas property in Texas land trusts (i.e. can I put a property located in Florida in a Texas land trust)?

Thanks for your response

Texas Trust = Texas Property

You can live anywehere, but the property needs to be in Texas. As for property outside of Texas, each state's laws can vary significantly. Best to consult with an attorney once you cross the Red River...
